We strive to identify areas of specific skill shortage and to address them by offering units and programs of study that address the burning issues identified by our industry partners. The creative application of Information Technology lies at the heart of the success of any modern business. In this environment, ICT professionals are required to master the engineering fundamentals of complex, rapidly evolving technologies, whilst maintaining and communicating a deep understanding of the processes and strategies that drive the companies for which they work. Few other professions can offer its practitioners such a diverse tapestry of career opportunities in such a dynamically developing environment.
The Postgraduate Professional Development Program recognises that with these opportunities come substantial challenges. We know that as businesses are buffeted by waves of emerging technologies their ICT professionals are forced to continually upgrade their skill sets and adopt ever more complex conceptual frameworks. Our teaching mixes traditional academic rigour with commercial pragmatism, by combining the talents of experienced academic and industry practitioners to deliver courses in a flexible and intimate manner designed to fit industry professionals. Our degrees are rigorous, technically sophisticated, highly regarded in industry and of great relevance within the ICT sphere.
Our Location
Located at the heart of Sydney's "Silicon Gully" Technology
Park, Macquarie enjoys particularly strong relationships with many of
Australia's leading technology companies and science organisations. This
allows us to present our very best students with the opportunity to engage
in a significant, real-world design, development or research project as
part of their Masters degree, either with their own employer or with one
of our industrial partners. All of our project teams deliver systems of
significant value to their sponsoring organisations, some of which have
been subsequently incorporated into commercially successful products.
